In macroscopy, the team pathology assistant/ pathologist examines macroscopically (“naked eye”) all the tissues removed from the patients in order to describe and identify the macroscopic characteristics associated with several pathologies. It is the first phase and it’s fundamental in the processing and diagnosis of histological samples.

Histological samples are fundamental not only because they establish a diagnosis but also because they determine therapeutic and prognostic decisions.
